Sugar Equals Satisfaction?

As human beings we strive for satisfaction. With modern stresses and modern means sugar has become the subconscious go-to product to fulfill the need for satisfaction.

Sugar is pleasure

Sugar stimulates the same pleasure centers in the brain as cocaine or alcohol, however sugar is far easier to obtain.

Most any convenient food or beverage either is made from sugar, has loads of added sugar or easily converts to sugar once ingested.

What exactly are these convenient items?

  • chips,
  • cereals,
  • flavored yogurt,
  • flavored milk,
  • flavored milk substitutes such as soy or almond milk,
  • sodas,
  • juices,
  • energy drinks,
  • sports drinks,

  • sauces,
  • dressings,
  • doughnuts,
  • croissants,
  • cake,
  • muffins,
  • bagels,
  • bread and grain products in general.

Please consider that pizza, sandwiches, burgers and subs are made with soft breads and not to forget the sugared condiments such as ketchup, sweet and sour sauce, barbecue sauce, relish etc.

Cut out sugar and detoxify

Once you consciously cut out all of these items and emphasize on consuming quality natural whole foods, those two cubes of sugar you enjoy in your tea or coffee become completely irrelevant. Eliminating the before mentioned items not only means you are cutting out the tremendous sugar load, but also the chemical additives so prevalent in those foods. Chemicals that only add to your overall toxic load and perpetuate the general lack of physical and mental wellness.

You would save a bundle of money, as the increased cost of natural quality whole foods is far offset by the lack of snacks, non-foods, fast-foods and take-out. You would find yourself more productive as the frequency of needed food intake is greatly reduced and you are thus free from the constant urge of snacking.

An important by-product of a reduced meal frequency is that your body has now more time for the detoxification.  With natural nutrient dense foods you can feel properly satiated for longer periods of time and most of all you can start feeling truly well.

The added energy and wellness from those foods can allow you to participate and find satisfaction in all aspects of life and being able to finally live life to the fullest.
